SUPER POPPINS FOR THE ENGLISH SPEAKING IN PARIS!

Super Poppins is a unique service that provides children from birth to 6 year-old an activity to share with their families (dad, mum, grand-parent…)

My name is Claire, I am a Young Children’s Educator. I have spent 3 years studying psychology, pediatry and pedagogy. After graduating as a Young Children’s Educator, I’ve had the joy to work in various prestigious institutions such as : a Montessori school (Montreuil 93), the United Nations kindergarden (Paris XVI), the nursery of Cochin hospital (Paris VII), la Maison des Petits du 104 (Paris XIX)…

All these experiences have made me realize that I don’t only specialize in children from birth to 6, or as I say « I ‘m the baby whisperer », but my real job is to accompany the link in between the young children and their families.

As a matter of fact, the families are the first educators of the children.

But how to know if you’re a good parent ? What does Winnicott mean when he mentions the  « good-enough mother » ? Montessori’s pedagogy is a trend, but what does it involve and is it possible to transpose it simply ? How to speak to a baby, as Françoise Dolto says, and what do they understand ?

A woman becomes « mummy », a man « daddy », a couple becomes a family because a child is born. Therefore : how to become a parent ? How to welcome a child ?

Through 3 main themes (musical initiation, « in English », gardening), I offer you my help with your eventual questions as a parent, I also propose you to share a moment of activity with your child in order to understand better how capable and autonomous your child can be.

The service I provide can be either :

-       at a partner’s for a collective session (maximum 3 families together)

-       at my place (Paris XIX) for the gardening workshop

-       I can also come at your place for a 2 hours individual session.

Some rules.

I have a profesionnal insurance but you will have to provide a copy of « attestation d’assurance civile » (or an equivalent) in order to participate a session.

You can either book a unique session or order a 10 sessions pack, that you can enjoy at your leisure, when you want, after having made appointment at :

It is possible to cancel and re-schedule a session 24 hours in advance by calling the phone number above. Under the 24 hours limit, the session will be due.

The sessions are destined to the children from birth to 6 years-old and they have to be accompanied by at least one member of their family (an adult over 18 who is related to them) within the limits of 2 adults maximum.

The sisters and brothers are welcome with a maximum of 3 children.

The baby workshops concern children from birth until they can walk. As soon as your child can walk on their own, I no longer consider them a baby and they can join a children’s workshop. It is interesting to mix children of various ages in order to favorize the interactions : the elder have a tendancy to help the youngest, who are therefore stimulated in their autonomy.

There are different types of sessions within the 3 themes (musical initiation, « in English », gardening) that you can order :

-       1 or 2 hours at a partner’s (3 families maximum)

-       2 hours at my home (Paris XIX) for the gardening

-       2 hours at your home

-       2 hours for a « p’tite visite » in Paris.

1.     1 hour of musical intiation or "in English" at a partner’s 20€ (+10€ for each child, maximum 3/each family): 3 to 8 families can attend

Offer 1 : « En avant la musique ! »

Communicating with another means than the words is quiet interesting for children under 6. Unlike adults, they have the open-mindnessness to experiment and try creative new ways to be understood. All the instruments have been carefully chosen in order to produce a melodical or archaical sound without knowing any technique. The workshops allow the children to interract, to meet each others, to sing loud and low, to discover the notions of noise, silence, rythm…

We will decline several pedagogical activities within this theme, which is particulay adapted for the babies.

Offer 2 : gardening

Inspired by the Montessori method, the children will love this activity that will allow them to experiment and discover all the wonderful elements that you find in a garden : mini tools, vegetables, fruits, seeds… This activity which is directly connected to their own reality will allow them to ask such questions as : « why can’t we see the plants grow ? »

Of course we will also mention the notions of sustainability.

In case of rain, we will wear boot and umbrellas.

In case of BIG rain, we will decline other activities within this theme inside in the dry, such as graphism, pre-notions of maths and fine prehension…

Offer 3 : « in English » 

The children aren’t like us : their more flexible to new languages and will focus on the non-verbal in order to understand the verbal. The objective of this workshop is to immerse the children in another tongue ; for the English natives, it’s a nice way to reconnect with their mother tongue. Having lived in NYC and London, I’m bilingual. The purpose here is to initiate the non-speaking  and the speaking to interact into an English context through various singalongs, stories etc… 

Offer 4 : « les p’tites visites »

In your arms or in a stroller, let’s discover Paris’s famous or more secret places, at the height of your child. Each walk lasts around two hours and can welcome, just like the other activities 3 families tops, composed of 2 adults maximum and 4 children.

In case of rain, we will bring boots and umbrellas, in case of BIG rain, we will find a way to visit a dry place J

Offer 5 : birthday

Are you tired with birthday clowns ? What kind of present can you offer to child under 6 ? What to do with several children under 6 ? How about getting him a precious moment rather than a toy that they will be fed up with soon enough ?

The birthday offer has been created to help you.

I welcome 8 to 12 children in your presence and together, we will decorate and play with a « pinata ». It’s a mexican fun tradition to play then destroy that « papier mâché » fun figure, that contains sweets and tiny toys.

The sucess of this activity is garanteed.
